A great project that centres around the film Pay it Forward (not essential to watch, but makes for nice class discussions and gives them ideas). We usually do this around April to coincide with the global Pay it Forward Day. But can be done at any time of the year and would be particularly nice in the run up to Christmas. Centres around the film Wall:E. As most children have seen this you probably won’t need to show the whole film (but is nice if you have a reward afternoon). The idea of the project is for the students to become advocates of something that will help the world and to create a campaign to stop it from happening e.g. preventing litter in school, raising awareness about water use. This is planned for a double lesson which is 100 minutes in my school, but can end up longer as it includes a 50 minute documentary into the phone hacking scandal. This isn’t essential for students understanding of the topic and could be replaced by something much shorter. Looks at the Leveson Inquiry, Partygate, Mps expenses, Sarah Payne Campaign. Case Study question is comparing against China
